STRAW MARQUETRY CLOCKWORK SOSIN
Quiet presence of old technique
SOSIN combines the golden softness of natural rye straw, precision of straw marquetry, and quiet presence of something handcrafted. The technique called "poor man's gold" in history respects and values our earthly and simple material. Clockwork SOSIN that shimmers in the sunlight become unnoticeable part of our everyday routine and home.
The SOSIN straw marquetry series includes clockworks of three sizes ⌀12 cm, ⌀16 cm and ⌀20 cm, which can be hung on the wall or fixed on the base and used on the worktop - just as your space and needs require.
Rye straw “Sangaste” is grown in small fields of Estonian Rural Museums to to introduce heritage culture in educational programs.
The disc and base of the clock are made of Estonian-grown ash wood and finished with natural oil wax. The backside metal plate is heated to 230 degrees Celsius, which allows us to colour the metal to a golden brown tone and harmonize with the straw.
Usage: To change the battery, remove the backside metal plate. To hang clock on the wall, remove the foot. The foot is attached to the metal plate with 2 bolts.
The clock is powered by 1 x AA battery. Battery not included.
