VUHIN HANDBROOM WEAVING WORKSHOP
In this one-hour workshop, you will make a practical and beautiful hand broom from natural fibres – a useful tool for everyday cleaning and a charming addition to your home.
During the workshop, we will introduce different broom-making traditions, as well as the fibres and cords used in the craft. Sorghum fibre, derived from a member of the grass family, is strong and slightly flexible, while tampico fibre, obtained from a species of agave cactus, is softer and more supple.
The finished broom is a versatile household tool, perfect for sweeping wood ash from in front of a stove or fireplace, or brushing crumbs from a kitchen countertop. With its simple, natural appearance, it also serves as an attractive decorative object that brings character and warmth to any interior.
