SIUHH SWING MAKING COURSE

During this one-day workshop, participants will finish and weave their own Siuhh swing using a frame made by us from locally sourced ash.

To make the workshop accessible for larger groups and allow everyone to complete their swing within a single day, we prepare the wooden frames in advance. This leaves plenty of time during the workshop to work with the material, finish the frame by hand and learn the simple and elegant paper-cord weaving technique.

We begin with an introduction to the swing, its construction and the materials used. Each participant will finish their frame before moving on to weaving the seat with paper cord.

The weaving itself is simple and elegant, but requires attention and a little patience. With guidance throughout the process, you will learn the basic principles of the technique and create a strong, comfortable and durable seat.

No previous experience is needed. The workshop is about taking your time, learning something new and enjoying the process of making together.

By the end of the day, you will have completed your own Siuhh swing, ready to bring a little movement and lightness into your everyday life.
