WARM AND INTUITIVE LIGHTNING SOSIN
The SOSIN table lamp brings the delicate precision of straw marquetry into a contemporary everyday object. It's surface is made from natural rye straw, whose warm golden tone, soft texture and subtle sheen give the lamp it's distinctive character.
Built around a simple, cordless form, the lamp combines a traditional handcraft technique with an intuitive way of interacting with light. The lamp is dimmable by simply turning it's upper disc. This small, tactile gesture allows the light to be adjusted to the moment and mood, without complex controls or visible technology.
As the light changes, the straw marquetry comes alive. The fine structure of the straw catches and reflects the light, revealing shifting highlights, delicate shimmer and the natural variation of its golden surface.
Warm and gentle, SOSIN brings softness into the darker hours while allowing the material itself to remain at the centre of the experience. The lamp explores how an inherited craft can find a natural place in contemporary life — not as an object from the past, but as something to be used, touched and experienced every day.

Materials
Marquetry - rye straw “Sangaste” is grown in small fields of Estonian Rural Museums to to introduce heritage culture in educational programs.
Base and top disc - Estonian-grown Ashwood and beech
Wood finishing - black tea and artisan-brewed iron citrate oxidation
QUIET AND PRESENT CLOCKWORK SOSIN
The SOSIN table clock brings the delicate precision of straw marquetry into an everyday object. It's surface catches the changing daylight, allowing the straw to shimmer subtly as the hours pass.
A clock holds moments and marks pauses. It accompanies the small routines of everyday life without demanding attention, becoming part of the quiet rhythm of a home.
The traditional technique gives the clock a tactile and luminous character, while it's simple contemporary form allows the material to remain at the centre. Rather than treating straw marquetry as a purely decorative surface, SOSIN gives the technique a functional role in an object that is used every day.
The clock is part of our exploration of how traditional craft can remain alive through contemporary objects — quietly present, useful and connected to the everyday.

Clockworks are in three sizes ⌀12 cm, ⌀16 cm and ⌀20 cm, which can be hung on the wall or fixed on the base and used on the worktop - just as your space and needs require.
The disc and base of the clock are made of Estonian-grown ash wood and finished with natural oil wax. The backside metal plate is heated to 230°Celsius, which allows us to colour the metal to a golden brown tone and harmonize with the straw.
Usage: To change the battery, remove the backside metal plate. To hang clock on the wall, remove the foot. The foot is attached to the metal plate with 2 bolts.The clock is powered by 1 x AA battery. Battery not included.

All products are made to order with care and respect in our workshop in charming town Viljandi, Estonia. Good things take time, and every piece is made by hand with the attention it deserves.Ordering time is 6 - 8 weeks.
